Realme 5i with quad cameras to launch on January 6

Realme was arguably one of the busiest phone makers around the world, and it appears it could be the same in 2020 too. The company has announced that it will officially launch its next smartphone, the Realme 5i on January 6.

However, the device will be unveiled in Vietnam on that day with the company still not announcing the day of launch for the device in other markets across the globe. Interestingly, ahead of its launch, the smartphone has been listed on a local e-commerce platform for registration.

This listing has reportedly revealed the price and key specifications of the device as well as other key details about it. Vietnamese e-commerce site, FPTShop claims the phone will be made available for purchase at price of VND 4,290,000 (spprox Rs. 13,000).

As per the listing, the Realme 5i will bring with it similar specs to the Realme 5 -- but slightly toned down. However, it will make up for this by bringing two new colours and a different design for the back panel.

The teaser shows the pohone being made available in green and blue colours flaunting a subtle gradient finish on the rear panel. The gradient on the panel, however, is quite different from the company's signature diamond-cut design seen on the Realme 5 and Realme 5s.

The specifications of Realme 5i listed on the website suggest that it will be a watered-down version of the Realme 5.

Talking about the specs, the Realme 5i will feature a 6.52-inch HD+ (720 x 1600 pixels) display with a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, the phone will bring with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC that has been paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. However, since this is a listing for a particular variant, expect the company to launch a few more at the time of the launch of the phone.

In terms of cameras, the phone will come with a 12-megapixel primary camera paired to an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter to complete the quad camera set-up on the phone.

On the front of the Realme 5i, the company has decided to place an 8-megapixel selfie lems. Keeping the lights on the Realme 5i is a 5,000mAh battery tasked to run this device with Android Pie based ColorOS 6.0.1 on top.
